— The Richland County Sheriff’s Department is asking for the community’s help in locating a stolen state vehicle.

According to Sheriff Leon Lott, a silver 2007 Ford Crown Victoria with the South Carolina license tag AZC-731 was stolen between last Friday and Monday from Action Transmission Service on Broad River Road.

The vehicle, which is the property of the South Carolina Department of Probation, Pardon and Parole, is equipped with a blue light connected to the passenger side visor and two blue lights in the rear window.

Sheriff Lott said if you are stopped by any law enforcement officer at night pull over when it is safe and in a well lighted area. He also said you should ask to see the credentials of any plain clothes officer who may approach your vehicle.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crimestoppers at 1-888-CRIMESC or text “TIPSC” to CRIMES (274637). Your identity will remain anonymous, and you may be eligible for a cash reward.
