Columbia area rains to finish early Thursday, leaving roads dry Friday morning

Rain showers should finish around 7 p.m. Thursday, leaving roads to dry overnight, according to the National Weather Service.

Though temperatures are expected to be below freezing around sunrise Friday morning, a drying wind will help keep the roads free of ice, forecaster Jeff Linton said.

Temperatures are expected to be in the upper 20s Thursday night, Linton said.

Friday will also be cold with highs in the lower 40s and winds that make it feel even colder.
