NATIONAL FEDERATION OF THE BLIND

— Parnell Diggs says he will seek the Democratic nomination for S.C. Attorney General, according to a news release.

Diggs, who is blind, will make his formal announcement on Saturday during the statewide meeting of the National Federation of the Blind of South Carolina.

The Myrtle Beach attorney ran for the 7th Congressional district Democratic primary in 2012, finishing third behind Gloria Tinubu and Preston Brittain.

Diggs is president of the S.C. chapter of the National Federation of the Blind and a member of the group's national board.

If Diggs wins the nomination, he would challenge Republican Attorney General Alan Wilson, son of U.S. Rep. Joe Wilson.
