Monday letters: Columbia needs cool stores

— Why can’t the capital city have it? Columbia is the largest city in South Carolina, yet we cannot have an Apple store or a Costco. There are Costco stores in Greenville, Myrtle Beach, Charleston and Spartanburg, as well as two in Charlotte and Augusta. There are Apple stores in Charleston and Greenville, as well as Charlotte and Augusta.

Why can’t the Columbia area succeed in attracting these stores to the capital city? What do they have that we don’t have? Let’s urge our economic development teams to get to work.
