Monday letters: No tax money for Costco, baseball

January 6, 2014

Columbia, SC This month, Columbia City Council is expecting a consultant’s report on the feasibility of a baseball team for the Bull Street development. Just like Costco, a baseball team is a for-profit business and should stand financially on its own or should not exist. City Council must vote no on using any tax dollars to build a baseball stadium or to fund a for-profit baseball team.
