New Year’s Eve robbery suspect caught on video

— A New Year’s Eve armed robbery suspect is sought by the Richland County Sheriff’s Department.

According to a press release from the RCSD, the Spring Valley Party Shop at 8712 Two Notch Road was robbed shortly before 3 p.m. Dec. 31. The suspect entered the business and pretended to buy an item. When the employee was bagging the merchandise, the release said, the suspect pulled out a handgun and told the employee to put all the money in the bag.

The suspect, who was wearing a black shirt and green hat, escaped on foot. On Monday, the department released surveillance video from the business.

Sheriff Leon Lott is asking for assistance in identifying the suspect. To receive up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest of the persons responsible, please call, email or text your anonymous tip to 888-CRIME-SC.
