Three charged with aiding 20-year-old fugitive

RICHLAND COUNTY Three people have been charged in recent weeks for helping a wanted 20-year-old elude authorities.

Issac Deshaun Watson is wanted for violating a youthful offender conditional release and unlawful carrying of a pistol. He escaped from custody of the S.C. Probation, Parole and Pardon Services on Nov. 26.

The Richland County Sheriff’s Department said on Monday that three people — friends and family of Watson’s — have been charged with helping him remain on the loose.

On New Year’s Eve, a Crimestoppers tip led to the arrest of Dawnicia Green (20) for harboring as escapee and obstruction of justice.

On Sunday, Shamari Jones, 20, was arrested for obstruction of justice after deputies spotted Watson in a vehicle on Garners Ferry Road — Watson jumped out and fled on foot.

Also on Sunday, Victoria Watson, 38, was charged with obstruction of justice and harboring an escapee.
