GUV SCHEDULE: Education reform plan, school visits this week

Gov. Nikki Haley’s publicly announced schedule for this week, released Monday by her staff, is:

• Wednesday, 10 a.m. – Join S.C. Motor Vehicles director Kevin Shwedo, Donate Life South Carolina executive director Tracy Armstrong and LifePoint president and chief executive Nancy A. Kay will hold a press conference to announce a new donor designation campaign, State House

• Wednesday, 3:30 p.m. – Present K-12 education reform initiative, Brookland-Cayce Grammar 1, West Columbia

• Thursday, 1 p.m. – Visit Scranton Elementary School, Scranton

• Friday, 12:30 p.m. – Visit Marshall Elementary School, Orangeburg

According to her staff, Haley’s activities last week included:

• 1 each – Policy call, call with a fellow governor and media call

Busiest day – Thursday, with two activities

Slowest day – Friday, with one activity

Of note – Haley’s schedule included no activities Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday, which was New Year’s Day
