Tuesday letters: Obamacare will lead to disaster

January 7, 2014

Those of you who pay for your own health care need to know about the run-away freight train coming at you.

Under President Obama’s whip-crack, insurers are required to provide all sorts of coverage previously optional or unavailable. The most costly probably will be the forced coverage for those with pre-existing conditions, and guess who will wind up with the tab for this kind of blanket coverage?

Your premiums may be more or less “affordable” now, but very soon you will be the recipient of the first of many letters from your insurer that begins: “You have not been singled out for this rate increase, it is being applied … .”

It is virtually certain that Obamacare will be one of the greatest transfers of wealth in history, from the haves to the have-nots.

It is only the latest addition to the galaxy of government entitlements that cosset, comfort and breed the least deserving of our society. Yes, many fine people are receiving justly deserved and fully earned government benefits, but the system is grossly slanted toward the undeserving. Does any rational person actually think this government mindset can end in anything but disaster?
