Tuesday letters: Give Clowney, Boyd a break

January 7, 2014

RACHAEL MYERS LOWE

— Shame on those police officers for ticketing our state’s football stars. It may be true that Jadeveon Clowney and Tajh Boyd were flouting the law and endangering their lives and the lives of others, but the officers must understand that football heroes are entitled to do anything they want.

These are not normal human beings: As we’ve been teaching Clowney and Boyd all their young lives, they are stars in the most important activity in the world. Leave our stars alone.
