— A 34-year-old convicted sex offender was arrested Monday, charged with failing to register as a sex offender.

Arian Shahpour Armstrong of Cayce was arrested at about 11:30 p.m. at Armstrong’s residence. His bond was set at $1,092.50.

The Lexington County Sheriff’s Department said Armstrong moved from Richland County to Lexington County and did not register with the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department as a convicted offender.

Armstrong was convicted in Florida on August 29, 1999, of committing a lewd or lascivious act on a child who was under the age of 16.
