Mountain in the Middle Trail Race: 12K and 17K trail race, 9 a.m. Saturday at Harbison State Forest, 5600 Broad River Road. Registration fees for the 17K are $45 through Thursday and $55 on race day. Eighth Annual Red Shoe Run: Jan. 25 beginning at Hand Middle School, 2600 Wheat St. Registration is from 6:30-7:30 a.m., followed by the 10K at 8 a.m. and the 5K at 8:15 a.m. Proceeds benefit the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Columbia. Register at strictlyrunning.com.
