— One armed robbery suspect hid in a dumpster Saturday, but Cayce police -- with the help of two citizens -- arrested him and another suspect within minutes of a daytime stick-up at a local lending business, Cayce police reported Sunday.

Shortly after noon Saturday, two armed men entered Carolina Pay Day Loans on 11220-A Knox Abbot Road and demanded money, according to Cayce Department of Public Safety Lt. Jeff Simmons.

They fled on foot and were confronted almost immediately by two Cayce officers, who took one into custody. The other ran away and was, in short order, discovered cowering in a dumpster.

Two citizens aided in the apprehension, but police did not give details on how they helped.

Police recovered money and a gun.

Held on armed robbery charges at the Lexington County jail are Tyrone J. Longmire, 29, and Jeffrey D. Combest, 21. Both men are from Gaston.
