SCHOOLS

LEXINGTON 1 teacher Kara Miller, author of “Ready, Set, Go,” has had her book selected by the American Printing House for the Blind as one of five national winners in the Typhlo and Tactus tactile book competition.

COMMUNITY

RICHLAND COUNTY’S finance office has received the highest award in government budgeting from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada. This is the 19th consecutive year that the office has received the recognition.

MILITARY

AIR FORCE RESERVE AIRMAN 1ST CLASS PARIS L. KNOTTS has graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas. He is the son of Diane Knotts of Hopkins.

ARMY PVT. DAQUAN J. NORRIS has graduated from the Chaplain Assistant Advanced Individual Training Course at the Fort Jackson Chaplain School. He is the son of Gwendolyn Norris of Blythewood.
