— The City of Columbia Water Works has lifted a boil water advisory in an area near Columbia College.

Customers on Lorick Avenue from Colonial Drive to Water Street no longer need to boil their water prior to drinking or cooking.

The City of Columbia Water Works performed an intense flushing of the distribution system and bacteriological samples showed the system is safe for drinking and cooking purposes.

The boil water advisory was issued following a six-inch water main break on Sunday.

For more information, Columbia Water Works customers should call (803) 545-3300.
