Six killed on South Carolina roads over the weekend

— According to the South Carolina Department of Public Safety, six people were killed on South Carolina roadways from 6 p.m. Jan. 10 through midnight Jan. 12.

The SCDPS reports of the six killed, one wore a seat belt; four did not; and one was a motorcyclist.

So far this year, 25 people have died on South Carolina highways compared to 24 during the same reporting period in 2013.

Of the 20 motor vehicle deaths in 2014, 11 of those were not wearing seat belts.
