Lexington Co. man fourth suspect charged in home invasion

RICHLAND COUNTY A fourth suspect in Thursday’s home invasion was arrested Monday in Lexington County.

Abdul Aliym Muhammad, 28, of West Columbia is charged with attempted murder, two counts of armed robbery, burglary, and two counts of kidnapping. He was arrested at his Leaphart Road home by Richland County Sheriff’s Department investigators, along with the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department.

On Friday, three other men were arrested — Kevin Peay Jr., 18, Adam Barber, 27, Andrew Moore, 20 — and all charged with attempted murder, two counts of armed robbery, burglary, and two counts of kidnapping.

At 4:30 a.m. Thursday, deputies responded to a home invasion occurred on Menlo Drive in Richland County. A male victim had suffered a stab wound to the upper body, and a female victim had been assaulted. Both victims were transported to Palmetto Health Richland.

Sheriff Leon Lott said the four suspects entered the home through the front door, assaulted the male victim and tied him up and then put a knife to the female victim’s throat and touched her inappropriately. The suspects then ransacked the apartment and stole a television and other items.
