Clemson, SC (SportsNetwork.com) - K.J. McDaniels recorded a double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds as the Clemson Tigers defeated the Wake Forest Demon Deacons, 61-53, in an Atlantic Coast Conference matchup at Littlejohn Coliseum.
Jordan Roper added 11 points on 4-of-8 shooting from the floor for Clemson (13-4, 4-1 ACC) as it picked up its third consecutive victory.
Coron Williams led the Demon Deacons (12-6, 2-3) with 13 points and Tyler Cavanaugh added 12. Arnaud Adala Moto chimed in with 10 points and six rebounds.
The Tigers took a narrow, 26-25, lead into the intermission after they converted 13-of-14 free-throw attempts in the opening period. Wake Forest hit on just 33.3 percent of its field goal tries in the first half.
The Demon Deacons were limited to 39.3 percent efficiency from the field including a 2-of-9 clip from 3-point range after halftime. Clemson sank 60.9 percent of its field goal attempts in the second stanza.
Clemson, which entered the contest leading the nation in scoring defense (53.6 ppg), has now held four opponents in a row under the 60-point mark. Despite the loss, Wake Forest held a slight, 32-31, edge in the rebounding battle.
