Monday letters: Thanks from The Salvation Army

January 20, 2014

— On behalf of The Salvation Arm, I’d like to express our deepest appreciation and thanks for making this past Christmas a huge success.

When you hear our bells ringing and donate at our kettles, your contributions help to provide for those in need. With your generosity, we raised more than $325,000 with our kettle campaign in 2013.

Our Christmas campaign also includes our Angel Tree program that makes the holidays bright for children throughout our community. To everyone who adopted an angel, contributed to our Stuff-A-Bus events or took toys to any of our toy drive locations, thank you: You made it happen. Because of your contributions, more than 3,800 children throughout the Midlands received presents, and families took home food for the holidays.

While the funds we raised are an incredible blessing, there is still money to be raised throughout the year and work to be done so we are able to continue meeting the needs in this community.

Again, thank you for a wonderful 2013 season, and we are looking forward to an even bigger, better and brighter 2014, with your continued help.
