LEXINGTON COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT

— Authorities have arrested a licensed practical nurse for allegedly encouraging a 16-year-old boy to engage in a sexual performance at a medical facility near West Columbia.

Lexington County Sheriff James R. Metts said Kerston Kyle Turner, 28, of Lugoff was arrested Friday and charged with engaging a child under the age of 18 in a sexual performance and first degree assault and battery.

According to arrest warrants, Turner offered to conduct a secret medical screening test on the 16-year-old in a restroom in order to engage him in a sexual performance.

Sheriff Metts said Turner observed the medical screening test, which was not medically necessary, while in the restroom with the minor. The test was also not documented in the 16-year-old’s medical file he said.

The Sheriff’s Department began investigating on January 14 after the 16-year-old’s mother took her son to a hospital to be examined after he told her about the incident at the medical facility near West Columbia.

Police have not released the name or address of the medical facility because the victim is a minor.

Sheriff Metts said Turner was arrested at his home Friday and released Saturday after posting $10,000 bail.
