SC Gov Nikki Haley

MARY ANN CHASTAIN — AP

— It’s so amazing that Gov. Nikki Haley, who has viciously fought funding to the poor, the disabled and our schools, suddenly has proposed millions of dollars for two of those groups within recent weeks. We are not supposed to be smart enough to notice this occurs at the beginning of an election year.

I’ve no doubt that money will be “found” for the poor before the election as well. I’m willing to bet the coup de grace will be funds for health-insurance assistance. This must be carefully timed, of course.

Haley’s insincere spending of other people’s money to further her political career does not impress.
