Fire destroys one home, damages neighboring homes in NE Richland County

RICHLAND COUNTY, SC A house fire in northeast Richland County has destroyed one house and damaged two neighboring homes on Trowbridge Road.

The Columbia Fire Department was called at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday to 210 Trowbridge Road and arrived to find the house fully involved.

In all, three houses and one car were affected by the blaze, Columbia Fire Department spokesman Brick Lewis said.

According to Lewis, one of the neighboring homes received radiant heat damage to the siding, and there was a second vehicle inside the garage of the home that received the most damage.

All damages are estimated at $175,000.

No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Richland County Fire Marshals' Office, Lewis said.

Trowbridge Road is off Lee Road between Longtown and Hard Scrabble roads.
