— Richland County Sheriff’s deputies are searching for a suspect they say stole food from a local grocery store and pulled a knife on a store employee.

Police say that just before 6 p.m. on Jan. 17, the suspect entered the Piggly Wiggly at 6325 N. Main Street and stole five packages of chicken.

An employee followed the suspect as he was leaving the store, but deputies said the suspect pulled a knife and pointed it at the employee.

The suspect then ran away.
