Mayor Steve Benjamin is spending three days this week in the nation’s capital to include a visit to the White House to address issues facing cities across the country.

Benjamin is leading a policy discussion, “Five Things Fiduciary Responsible Mayors Need To Know,” according to a Columbia City Hall news release. Benjamin also is making a presentation on how Columbia is addressing gang violence as part of a police chiefs’ task force.

Benjamin is due back in town Friday, one of his aides said.
