Lander University student charged with raping fellow student

— A Lander University student was charged this week in a sexual assault of a fellow college student.

Hunter Garrett Coker, 21, was arrested Monday and charged with first-degree criminal sexual conduct.

The incident occurred Jan. 17 at an off-campus party on East Kirksey Drive, according to Capt. Nick Futch with the Greenwood Police Department.

Officers were called to a local emergency room after the female victim, who was an acquatinance of Coker’s, reported to medicial officials that she had been raped.
