Chapel Hill, NC (SportsNetwork.com) - James Michael McAdoo scored a game-high 22 points to lead the North Carolina Tar Heels to an 80-61 triumph over the Clemson Tigers in an Atlantic Coast Conference bout at the Dean Smith Center.
McAdoo shot 9-of-13 from the field and added seven rebounds for UNC (12-7, 2-4 ACC), which has won two of three. Marcus Paige tallied 15 points and five assists, Leslie McDonald scored 12 points and Kennedy Meeks added 11 points, eight boards and three blocks for the hosts.
For Clemson (13-6, 4-3), K.J. McDaniels led the way with 13 points and nine rebounds, while Landry Nnoko and Adonis Filer poured in 12 points apiece.
UNC's dominance started early, as it outshot Clemson from the field in the first half, 50 percent to 23.1 percent, and carried a 37-21 lead into intermission.
The Tar Heels actually improved their field goal percentage to .615 after halftime and their lead swelled to as many as 31.
UNC won the rebounding battle, 37-31, and outscored Clemson in the paint, 34-22.
