Hopkins man beaten to death identified

— RICHLAND COUNTY The 71-year-old man found beaten to death in his Lower Richland home Monday has been identified.

James Solomon of Hopkins died from blood loss due to multiple blunt and sharp force injuries, according to Richland County Coroner Gary Watts.

Solomon was found about 12:30 p.m. Monday by a friend who went to check on him.

The Richland County Sheriff’s Department continues to investigate the homicide.
