WK, Westwood shine at Gamecock Duals

White Knoll and Westwood had good performances at the Gamecock Duals wrestling event last weekend in Sumter.

White Knoll, ranked No. 7 in lass 4A by scmat.com, went 7-1 at the two-day event, losing only to No. 6 Boiling Springs in the championship match. The Timberwolves individual star was senior Patton Gossett, who went 8-0 at 285 pounds. The defending state heavyweight champion is ranked No. 1 individually.

Westwood won sis of eight matches, and senior Kelvin Williams and sophomore Evan Carrigan both maded the all-tournament team with 8-0 records. Williams is ranked No. 6 at 113 pounds, while Carrigan is No. 3 at 120.
