POLITICS: College trustees screening schedule set

— The Joint Legislative Committee to Screen Candidates for College and University Boards of Trustees will be interview candidates from Feb. 20-28.

The committee will interview 75 candidates for 58 board seats at 11 schools.

About two out of every three seats available on state public college boards have only one candidate. Only one of the eight seats on the University of South Carolina has a challenger.
