Arlington, VA (SportsNetwork.com) - Washington Capitals forward Martin Erat has been named to the Czech Republic squad for the 2014 Sochi Olympics.

Erat replaces St. Louis forward Vladimir Sobotka. The Blues placed Sobotka on injured reserve last weekend with a leg injury.

This marks the third time Erat will participate in the Olympics, following appearances at the 2006 Torino Games and 2010 Vancouver Games.

The 32-year-old has 21 assists in 48 games for the Capitals this season.
