— The Richland County Sheriff’s Department is on the scene of a possible home invasion in northeast Richland County.

Deputies were called to 8561 Brookfield Road at about 11:30 a.m., where one person was found shot in the upper body. The victim was transported to Palmetto Health Richland, where their condition was unknown.

Sgt. Curtis Wilson of the sheriff’s department said drugs were found in the home, which is near the intersection of I-20 and I-77, and deputies are searching for two suspects at this time.

For a short period, two Richland School District Two schools — Richland Northeast High and Condor Elementary schools — were on lockdown. But by 12:30 p.m., both lockdowns were lifted.

No other information was available.
