— Two more arrests have been made in connection with the shooting incident last summer at the Colony Apartments in which a four-year-old girl was injured.

Aaron Maurice Battle, 30, and Anthony Leroy Doctor, 23, have been charged with possession of a weapon by a person convicted of a violent crime and unlawful carrying of a pistol.

Investigators believe Battle and Doctor were the occupants of a 2010 Dodge Charger who actively exchanged gunfire with suspects who were allegedly firing at them, Columbia Police Department Spokeswoman Jennifer Timmons said.

During the July 2013 gunfight, a four-year-old girl who was watching TV in her Bailey Street home was struck in the upper body by a stray bullet. Timmons said the child has since recovered from her injuries.

According to the Columbia Police Department, Marcus Gantt, 22, was arrested last July and charged with attempted murder, possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime and unlawful carrying of a pistol.

According to the Columbia Police Department, Gantt and Doctor are confirmed gang members. Investigators believe the shooting may have been gang-motivated.
