UPDATE: Richland Co. coroner identifies victim of hit-and-run off Farrow Road as Rock Hill man

UPDATED (4:15pm Feb 5): Richland County Coroner Gary Watts identified the victim as 33-year-old Osric T. Bittle of Rock Hill.

Watts said an autopsy performed Tuesday morning found the man died of blunt-force injuries "consistent with being struck by a vehicle."

ORIGINAL STORY: The South Carolina Highway Patrol says a man found dead Monday morning just off Farrow Road near I-77 in Richland County was the victim of a hit-and-run.

A motorist driving by spotted the body of a man near a patch of trees near the side of Farrow Road, Trooper David Jones said.

The man’s identity will likely be made public later Monday, Jones said.

Investigators say the hit-and-run occured some time between Feb. 2 and 8 a.m. Feb. 3 on Farrow Road, northbound, just north of the I-77 bridge.

The site is close to the Residence Inn on Legrande Road.

Investigators are looking for a blue 2001-2008 model Dodge Caravan or Chrysler Town and Country.
