Dexter Wideman of Saluda 'flips' to USC over Florida State

USC and Clemson both enjoyed Signing Day — as both football programs signed recruiting classes ranked by college football experts.

USC's recruiting class of 21 ranked 16th best in the country, according to Rivals, while ESPN ranked it at No. 21. Learn more about the players here, where we have our coverage of their high school careers as well as links to their personal highlights.

Clemson, meanwhile, signed 22 players and are ranked in the top 15 by both ESPN and Rivals. Learn about Clemson's class here.

The Gamecocks were able to get all four signees who considered USC but whose futures were uncertain when the day began.

One of those was Dexter Wideman of Saluda (pictured), who was originally expected to go to Florida State.

The biggest drama was Wesley Green, a four-star cornerback from Lithonia, Ga., who chose USC over Georgia live on television Monday evening.

Another small surprise was Chris Lammons, who waited until Wednesday to make his decision. In the end, he chose the Gamecocks over Wisconsin.

Understandably, the USC coaching staff was very pleased.

The question is, will this solid class be tough enough for the rugged SEC? Read Josh Kendall's take
