Arrest made in Columbia sandwich shop robbery

— A 37-year-old woman has been charged in a January robbery of a local sandwich shop.

Diane Leslie Reese is charged with armed robbery, kidnapping and possesison of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime, the Columbia Police Department announced Thursday.

Reese allegedly stole money from the register at 4717 Devine Street shortly before 9 p.m. Jan. 10.

Surveillance video showed a woman pointing a gun at the two workers inside the shop, while making violent threats and demands for cash. The suspect was also heard yelling at a male employee to get on the ground. The workers complied; and were not physically harmed during the incident.

Reese was arrested Thursday and transported to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
