Five former Tigers will take the next step toward NFL careers when they participate in the 2014 NFL Scouting Combine, which will be held Feb. 20-25 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.

Those receiving invitations to the event are wide receiver Sammy Watkins, quarterback Tajh Boyd, wide receiver Martavis Bryant, offensive tackle Brandon Thomas and cornerback Bashaud Breeland.

The scouting event will be the second for Boyd and Thomas, both of whom practiced for NFL coaching staffs and played in the league-sponsored Senior Bowl.

It will be first pre-draft scouting exposure for Watkins, Bryant and Breeland, all of whom entered the draft after their junior seasons.
