RCSD: 4 arrested in connection with 17 burglaries

— The Richland County Sheriff’s Department has arrested four people in connection with 17 burglaries in the Summit neighborhood.

Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott said Kelvin Patten, 19, and Marcus Morris, 17, and two 15-year-old males were arrested between Feb. 4 and Feb. 7.

Police say Patten, Morris and the two 15-year-olds are accused of burglarizing 17 homes over a three-month period, which began in December 2013.

According to Sheriff Lott, Patten, Morris and the two 15-year-olds stole merchandise and cash worth over $12,000.

Sheriff Lott said the investigation is ongoing and the suspects may be responsible for crimes committed in the Waverly Place, Maywood, Elders Pond, Laurel Springs and Autumn Glen neighborhoods.

Patten and Morris were transported to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center, and the two 15-year-olds were transported to the Department of Juvenile Justice.
