Deputies search for suspect in Richland stabbing incident

— Richland County Sheriff’s Deputies are searching for a suspect in stabbing incident that occurred just after 3 p.m. Saturday near Taylor Elementary School off Clement Road.

The victim was walking home near Williamsburg Drive and McRae Street when the suspect approached the victim from behind and demanded the victim’s belongings, said Sgt. Curtis Wilson, spokesman for the sheriff’s department. The victim had nothing to give and the suspect stabbed the victim in the upper body, then fled on foot, Wilson said.

The victim was transported to the hospital, and deputies continue to track and search for the suspect, Wilson said.
