Wednesday letters: Thanks to two caring nurses

February 19, 2014

— I was hospitalized in the heart center at Palmetto Health Richland a few months at the time my late son would have celebrated his birthday. I had told the nurses how during the six years he has been in heaven, my husband and I always sent up a balloon for his birthday. On the date of his birthday, two of the nurses, Kevin and Meghan, brought in a balloon and a wheel chair, and I was taken into the parking lot and was able to send up my balloon.

What a wonder, thoughtful and caring gesture on their part. Too often nowadays, people do not acknowledge all the good that is done by others. My husband and I want to say a public “thank you” to two very special caregivers at the heart center at Palmetto Health Richland.
