SC Gov Nikki Haley

MARY ANN CHASTAIN — AP

— I was about to leave home Feb. 12 to have breakfast at a restaurant when my wife said: “Are you going out in this snow and ice? Governor (Nikki) Haley has declared a state of emergency and said we should all stay home.”

I replied: “You want me to trust the words of our governor who just signed a law that patrons can carry concealed weapons into bars and restaurants who serve alcohol as long as the ‘toter’ doesn’t drink? You want me to believe our governor who just said she wants to do away with concealed-weapons permits and firearms safety training requirements? Really?”
