— The City of Columbia Water Works has lifted a boil water advisory for customers of the 4700 block of Forest Drive in Richland County.

The advisory, which was issued Monday, affected the area near Forest Park Shopping Center.

According to a City of Columbia press released, the advisory was issued after an 18-inch water main break.

Following an intense flushing of the distribution system, bacteriological samples indicate the system is safe to use for drinking and cooking purposes.
