RCSD: Propane Tank Larceny

RCSDINVESTIGATES

— Deputies are searching for multiple suspects who stole 14 propane gas tanks from a business last week.

The tanks, valued at $630, were stolen between noon Feb. 17 and 8 a.m. Feb. 18 from the Exxon at 5820 Fairfield Road.

Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott said in a press release that the suspects cut the lock on the exchange box outside the business where the tanks were stored. The suspects were captured on video surveillance equipment driving a white SUV (possibly a Kia Soul). The passenger got out of the vehicle and stole the gas tanks.

Lott is asking for assistance in identifying suspects. Anyone with information can receive up to $1,000 for tips that lead to arrest(s). Call, email or text tips to 888-SC-CRIME.
