Some Irmo residents advised to boil their drinking water

February 27, 2014

— A broken six-inch water main has prompted Columbia Water Works to urge residents on Guild Hall Drive between Stamford Bridge Road and Nursery Road to vigorously boil water for 60 seconds before consumption or use in food preparation. Anyone living near the Irmo neighborhood who has experienced a drop in water pressure should follow the same precautions to reduce the risk of bacterial contamination. The advisory is in effect until further notice.
