Preview caps of two semifinal basketball playoff games

Irmo (26-1, 11-0) vs. Hillcrest (21-4-1, 6-3)

WHEN: 8:30 p.m. Friday.

WHERE: Bon Secours Wellness Center, Greenville

Storylines: Irmo has won 24 consecutive games. Led by senior all-state players Javis Howard and Jevante Gross, the Yellow Jackets average 69 points per game and have a 20-point margin of victory. The Rams are guard-heavy, led by seniors Anthony Nelson, Avery Greene and Thad Perry. Hillcrest averages 69 points on offense and yields 52.

GIRLS

Dutch Fork (18-7, 9-1) vs. Summerville (21-5, 10-0)

WHEN: 7 p.m. Friday

WHERE: Florence Civic Center

Storylines: Coach Faye Norris’ Silver Foxes have won nine in a row. Aiming for their third consecutive state championship, the Silver Foxes have solid defense and are led in the post by junior Morgan Williams (14 ppg, 8 rpg). Guards Sydney Shull and Zhane Green add double-digit scoring. Summerville has a scoring advantage with 54 points per game, led by Heather Chapman, Rodnesha Capers and Zuri Green, who combine for 36 points and 18 rebounds. Keeping away from turnoevers will be a key for Dutch Fork. Summerville averages 16 takeaways and 19 defensive rebounds.
