A Charlotte-based company that works closely with the Continental Tire plant in Sumter County is investing $3 million and adding 20 jobs at its Midlands operations, the S.C. Commerce Department said Friday.

King Machine will build a new facility to inspect, service and repair the tiremaker's production equipment.

The company already works within the Continental plant. It's been leasing a nearby building as a temporary facility.

King's future Sumter location will be its fifth site in the United States.
