COLUMBIA, SC — Maj. Gen. Lester D. Eisner, the deputy adjutant general of South Carolina, is retiring after 37 years in the U.S. Army and the S.C. National Guard.
A retirement ceremony will be held today at the Army Aviation Support Facility on McEntire Joint National Guard Base.
Eisner began his service in 1976 as a military graduate of Mercer University. In 2006, he became the Assistant Adjutant General – Army and was promoted to the rank of Brigadier General. In 2008 he was appointed as full time Deputy Adjutant General for South Carolina.
“We are honoring the remarkable achievements of a pivotal leader in the S.C. Military Department, whom we bid farewell with deepest gratitude,” said Maj. Gen. Robert E. Livingston, Jr., the adjutant general of South Carolina, said in a press release. “We thank Les for his unfettered commitment and strategic vision, whose dedication positioned our S.C. National Guard forces to meet the demands in the global environment. We wish him the very best in retirement and in his future endeavors.”
