SCHOOLS

LEXINGTON 1 students Emily Cook (Lexington High School), Hunter Laag and Dustin Moore (White Knoll High School) attended the three-day Congress of Future Medical Leaders program in Washington D.C.

SPRING VALLEY HIGH SCHOOL choral music and piano studies director Dr. Patrick Hawkins has been invited to perform a solo recital at the Historical Keyboard Society of North America convention.

COMMUNITY

DAUGHTERS OF THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION, COLUMBIA CHAPTER, AND JONATHAN ADAMS SOCIETY, CHILDREN OF THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION members provided cookies and handmade valentines to veterans at the Dorn VA Hospital on Feb. 15. Participants were Regent Jo Ann Ward, First Vice Regent Christine Burnette, Jacob Harley, Bobby Bishop and Misty Harley.

MILITARY

AIR NATIONAL GUARD AIRMAN 1ST CLASS KETURAH Y. MILES has graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, Texas. She is the daughter of Angela Smith and Robert Miles of Eastover.

AIR FORCE AIRMAN MICHAEL T. CHAFFIN has graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio. He is a 2010 graduate of Irmo High School.

AIR FORCE RESERVE AIRMAN 1ST CLASS GREGG M. ANDERSON has graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio. He is the son of Janice Anderson of Hopkins and Greg Anderson of Eastover.
