12 arrested in Springdale police department prostitution sting

— The Springdale Police Department conducted a prostitution sting on Feb. 28 and March 1 that resulted in the arrest of 12 people.

Springdale Police Chief Kevin Cornett said police initiated “Operation Aphrodite” using the backpage.com website after receiving several tips about illegal prostitution within the Town of Springdale.

Twelve indivduals were arrested and charged including William Fick, 19, soliciting prostitution and possession of marijuana; Ephriam Oij, 37, soliciting prostitution; Alan Jones, 31, soliciting prostitution; Marquis Thurmond, 21, soliciting prostitution; Dennis Glen, 19, soliciting prostitution and possession of marijuana; David Leblanc, 54, soliciting prostitution 2nd offense; George Wise Jr., 29, soliciting prostitution; Nathaniel Lakin, 55, soliciting prostitution; Jose Hernandez-Villeda, 25, soliciting prostitution; Keith Evans, 23, soliciting prostitution; Teyon Lane, 26, soliciting prostitution and possession of marijuana; and Juan Gomez-Guzman, 18, soliciting prostitution.

Chief Cornett said all of the individuals arrested were booked into the Lexington County Detention Center.
