FRIENDS OF THE KERSHAW COUNTY LIBRARY BOOK SALE: Friends Night for members from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the “old Family Dollar” in the Burndale Shopping Center on Jefferson Davis Hwy. Memberships will be sold at the door. The sale will be open to the public from noon-8 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, and 1-5 p.m. March 9. Half-price Sale Day will be 10 a.m.-5 p.m. March 15. SOUTH CAROLINA STATE LIBRARY CENTER FOR THE BOOK: Author Tom Mack will talk about his book, “The South Carolina Encyclopedia Guide to South Carolina Writers,” as part of the library’s Speaker @ the Center program, March 12 from noon-1 p.m., 1500 Senate St. Books will be available for purchase and autographing. S.C. BOOK FESTIVAL 2014: The 2014 S.C. Book Festival will be held May 16-18 at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center. Exhibitor applications are now being taken through April 15. More information is available at www.scbookfestival.org.
