Five killed on South Carolina roads over the weekend

— According to the South Carolina Department of Public Safety, five people were killed on South Carolina roads over the weekend.

Of those five killed, one was wearing a seatbelt and two were not wearing seatbelts, one was on a motorcycle and one was a pedestrian.

As of March 2, 112 people of died on South Carolina highways compared to 117 this same time in 2013.

The S.C. Department of Public Safety reports that of the 90 people who have died this year, 49 were not wearing seatbelts.

Also, 14 pedestrians, seven motorcyclists and one bicyclist have died on SC state roads and highways this year.
